Who can join
Eligibility for membership.
The Order of the Eastern Star welcomes women and men alike. Every candidate for membership is asked to meet a few simple requirements — to:
- Profess a belief in a Supreme Being
- Be at least eighteen years of age
- Be of good moral character and reputation
- Meet the residency requirements of the Order
Men who wish to join must be affiliated Master Masons in good standing.
Women may petition for membership through any one of three avenues — described alongside. A Masonic relative is only one of them, so many people qualify who never expected to.

Start a conversation
Reach out through our contact page or email [email protected] for an informal chat. Tell us a little about yourself and your interest in the Order.
Visit a stated meeting
Join us at one of our monthly meetings. Meet our members, ask your questions, and see whether our chapter feels like home.
Submit your petition
When you're ready, a member will help you complete your petition for membership and present it to the chapter Secretary. We'll guide you through every detail.
Be introduced & initiated
You'll be introduced at a stated meeting and, following the chapter's welcome, initiated in our beautiful ceremony — taking your place among the members of Templar Chapter No. 374.
